MQConnect

MQConnect

MQConnect is a fully featured MQSeries client that runs natively in the Unisys A/NX/LX-Series MCP environment.

Solve your enterprise integration problems.

MQConnect©and COMSBridge/MQ© - products which are specifically designed to solve your enterprise integration problems. IBM's MQSeries is the message oriented middleware of choice and is extensively used by large corporations like People's Bank, Capitol One, Discount Bank and 3rd Federal to integrate applications running on dissimilar platforms. See MQConnect on IBM.

MQseries is supported on almost all major computing platforms, and now it is available for Unisys A-Series/NX. Developed under license from IBM, Hursley by Peter Mullins Consultancy Ltd., the following products are available now:

MQConnect©
MQConnect provides the MSeries MQI for all major platforms, including Unisys A-Series and Clearpath NX systems. As an MQSeries client, it can interact with any Queue Manager that supports client channels. For Clearpath systems the in-built NT Server can be used to host the MQSeries server, or for more scaleable solutions an MVS, AS400 or Unix server may be chosen. The overhead of message queue processing is incurred by the server, ensuring that a minimum of expensive mainframe resources are chosen.

COMSBridge/MQ©
COMSBridge/MQ provides an interface between legacy applications running under COMS (the Unisys TP monitor), and MQSeries. On-line applications using the standard communications verbs (SEND, RECEIVE, ENABLE, DISABLE) may send and receive messages to and from MQSeries Queue Managers. The standard COMS configuration utility is used to establish the required routing to the on-line applications using windows, agendas and transaction codes.

COMSBridge/MSMQ©
COMSBridge/MSMQ provides an interface between legacy applications running under COMS (the Unisys TP monitor), and Microsoft Message Queues. In the same way as COMSBridge/MQ, on-line applications can use standard communications verbs  to send and receive messages allowing seamless integration into a Microsoft networking environment.

Features:
1. MQConnect was developed under licence from IBM Hursley Labs using specifications and test suites provided by IBM.
2. MQConnect uses the same proprietary IBM MQSeries channel protocol as any other MQSeries client (NT, Unix, s/390, etc).
3. MQConnect requires no gateways or additional components on the MQSeries server platform.
4. MQConnect is not dependent on Windows NT. It works directly with the MQSeries server on your platform of choice - Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, AS400, s/390, NT and others.
5. MQConnect fully supports MQSeries Integrator versions 1 & 2. Unisys applications may directly access the message service folders contained in the RFH headers in order to participate in MQSI message flow processing.
6. MQConnect provides a DATACONVERT exit which allows for the conversion (CCSID and encoding) of custom message formats.
7. MQConnect requires no add-ons or snap-ins for management or monitoring. Any MQSeries management product can be used, although in most cases, MQSeries Explorer is sufficient.
8. MQConnect works with LINC systems either by using the NOF facility or with COMSBridge.
9. COMSBridge/MQ supports the vast majority of legacy applications.
10. COMSBridge/MQ comes with full source code to allow customisation to accommodate legacy COMS applications with non-standard behaviour.
11. MQConnect and COMSBridge/MQ are mature products and have been used in production environments since September 1998.
12. MQConnect and COMSBridge/MQ have an extensive and growing user base.
